Florida Commercial Diving Institute (FCDI) would like to provide clear and direct clarification regarding our school and Commercial Diving Academy (CDA), as we continue to receive questions, record requests, and online comments incorrectly linking the two.
FCDI is not CDA. We have never been CDA. We are not affiliated with CDA in any way.
Separate Schools. Separate Operations.
Florida Commercial Diving Institute is a standalone commercial diving training facility. We have never been Commercial Diving Academy (CDA) and have never been affiliated with CDA in any capacity.
Florida Commercial Diving Institute is a distinct and independent commercial diving training facility based in Hudson, Florida. We operate under our own ownership, administration, curriculum, safety systems, certifications, and training standards.
CDA was a separate commercial diving school that operated in Jacksonville, Florida. That school is no longer in operation.
At no point has FCDI shared ownership, management, records, facilities, instructors, or operational control with CDA.
Regarding Student Records and Diplomas
We understand that former CDA students are actively seeking transcripts, diplomas, and academic records. However, it is important to be absolutely clear:
- FCDI does not possess CDA diplomas
- FCDI cannot recreate or reissue CDA diplomas
- FCDI does not maintain CDA student files
- FCDI is not the custodian of CDA records
Any transcript records occasionally referenced are not original CDA-issued diplomas and do not represent CDA documentation.
We regret that we cannot assist with CDA record requests and appreciate your understanding.
Addressing Public Confusion
There has been ongoing confusion on social media and in direct inquiries suggesting that FCDI and CDA are the same institution or connected in some way. This is incorrect.
The similarity in naming within the commercial diving industry has contributed to misunderstandings, but we want to be unequivocal:
FCDI is a separate school with its own history, standards, and accountability.

Florida Commercial Diving Institute operates with a strong emphasis on safety, transparency, and accountability. There has never been a student death or fatal incident at Florida Commercial Diving Institute.
Our training programs are built around current industry standards, verified safety protocols, and real-world operational preparedness. We take our responsibility to students, families, and the commercial diving industry seriously.

We respectfully ask that former CDA students seeking records continue their search through appropriate channels unrelated to Florida Commercial Diving Institute.
